Exploring Engineering Day
Engineering Student Council has hosted and participated in a number of outreach events. The council planned and hosted Exploring Engineering Day during Spring Quarter 2010. Boy Scouts from across the county visited Cal Poly&pos;s campus to participate in a day of educational engineering activities. The Boy Scouts were exposed to activities related to each type of engineering found here on campus. Both the boys’ analytic and creative abilities were put to the test.
Engineering Student Council strives to spark interested in the younger generation in hopes of building a strong engineering community in the future.
Cuesta Tech Fair
Engineering Student Council has also participated in local school career fairs representing the engineering profession. The Cuesta Tech Fair was a display of a variety of professions students could pursue after graduation. Engineering Student Council participated representing engineering in general, answering any questions the students had.
Engineering Student Council continues to brainstorm new ways of reaching out to middle and high school students to spark interested in engineering. Engineering can lead to many options as far as careers and provides students with the analytic knowledge necessary to adapt.
